A PARENT’S GUIDE TO OUR SERVICES

Welcome! We want to ensure our Service is a safe and enjoyable experience for all users. This guide is designed to help parents and legal guardians understand the rules of our Service, particularly regarding our games like “Starship Battlegrounds”, and what your responsibilities are. Your use of our Service, and your minor’s use, is governed by our Terms of Service (ToS) and Privacy Policy.

1. Your Responsibility for Minors

Our Service is intended for users who are the legal age of majority in their country of residence. If you are not of legal age, your legal guardian must review and agree to our Terms of Service before you can use the Service. As a parent or guardian, you accept full responsibility for any unauthorized use of the Service by minors. This includes all use of your credit card or other payment instruments (like PayPal) by minors. You are responsible for anything that happens through your Account . Recent German court rulings (LG Karlsruhe) have affirmed that parents can be held liable for such charges under the principle of “apparent authority” if they fail to secure their accounts or payment methods .

2. In-App Purchases (IAPs)

Our games are free to play, but may be funded by advertising and the sale of “Virtual Items”.

What are Virtual Items? In our Service, you may purchase, with “real world” money, a limited right to use virtual currency (Spacecoins), virtual in-game items, or other features.

Who Processes Payments? All transactions are processed by third-party providers, such as the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not receive your direct payment information .

3. Our Refund Policy (Important)

Our refund policy is governed by applicable law. For consumers in the European Union (EU) / European Economic Area (EEA), you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content purchases . However, this right expires early if you, during the purchase process:

Expressly agree that we can deliver the digital content (e.g., Spacecoins) immediately, before the 14-day period is over;

Acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal by agreeing to this; AND

We confirm your agreement and acknowledgment to you in an email or other durable medium after your purchase .

If these steps are followed, the purchase becomes final. If these steps are not followed, your right of withdrawal may last for up to 12 months . All other purchases are final except as required by law or the policies of the platform providers (Apple, Google). You will not receive compensation for unused Virtual Items if an Account is closed, subject to the specific consumer law protections outlined in our Terms of Service (Section 1.2).

4. How to Prevent Unauthorized Purchases

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account and “Login Information” (like passwords). To prevent unauthorized purchases by a minor, we strongly urge you to:

NEVER share your Account or Login Information with anyone, including your child.

Activate Parental Controls: Use the built-in parental controls and purchase settings on your mobile device (e.g., Apple App Store or Google Play Store) .

Manage Your Passwords: Ensure your device and store accounts are properly secured.

5. In-Game Communication (User Content)

Our Service may include various forums, blogs, and chat features . Please be aware that our Service is now subject to the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) . This means we have implemented new mechanisms for users to report illegal content (like hate speech or bullying) within the in-game chat . We are obligated to review these reports and take appropriate action. Please talk to your child about online safety and the risks of sharing personal information with other users.
